Thema: Set your heart on heavenly things

Colossians 3:1-5
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Matthew 6:19-21
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Korte uitleg:
Wij allen geboren uit Gods Geest. We zijn herboren, vernieuwd, en niet langer van deze aarde, maar erfgenamen van het koninkrijk van de almachtige God. Wij zijn betaald met de prijs en niet langer van onszelf, maar van Hem Jezus. Laten we daarom ons hart zetten op de dingen die er echt toe doen en laten we onze schatten niet hier op aarde bouwen maar in de Hemel en laat ons hart daarop gericht zijn.
